Terms of Service & Disclaimer
Effective date: August 3, 2026. Last updated: August 3, 2026.
1. Who we are
SkipQuarantine (the "Service," available at skipquarantine.com, the "Site") is owned and operated by Handhewn, LLC, a Texas limited liability company, doing business as SkipQuarantine ("Handhewn," "we," "us," or "our"). You can reach us at contact@skipquarantine.com.
2. Agreement to these Terms
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Service and Disclaimer (the "Terms"). By purchasing a plan, you additionally confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms, that you are at least 18 years old, and that you are purchasing for your own personal, non-commercial use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. Purchases are governed by the version of these Terms in effect at the time of purchase.
3. What the Service is
The Service is an informational planning aid. It encodes the State of Hawaii's published requirements for importing dogs and cats (Hawaii Administrative Rules chapter 4-29 and the associated checklists published by the Hawaii Department of Agriculture & Biosecurity) into date calculations, checklists, reminders, and reference material, so you can see how the published requirements apply to the dates you provide.
4. What the Service is not
Not legal advice. Handhewn is not a law firm, no attorney-client relationship is created by your use of the Service, and nothing on the Site is legal advice.
Not veterinary advice. Handhewn is not a veterinary practice, no veterinarian-client-patient relationship is created by your use of the Service, and nothing on the Site is veterinary advice. Every medical step described by the Service, including vaccination, blood collection, parasite treatment, and health certification, must be performed, verified, and documented by your veterinarian.
Not the State of Hawaii. Handhewn is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the State of Hawaii, its Department of Agriculture & Biosecurity, or its Animal Quarantine Station. The State's published requirements are the sole authority, and the State makes all decisions regarding any animal's entry, inspection, release, or quarantine.
5. The State's requirements control
Government requirements, fees, forms, addresses, and processing practices can change at any time and without notice. We monitor the State's published sources and display the version date of the rules our calculations use, but we do not warrant that the Service reflects the most current requirements at any given moment. Before acting on any date, document, or instruction in your plan, confirm the current requirement against the State's own publications and with your veterinarian. If anything in the Service conflicts with the State's publications or with direction from State personnel, the State controls.
6. Your responsibilities
The Service's output is only as accurate as the information you provide. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of every date and fact you enter; for independently verifying each step with your veterinarian and the State; for meeting every deadline; and for your pet's compliance with all applicable requirements. You, and not Handhewn, bear ultimate responsibility for the outcome of your pet's entry into Hawaii.
7. Purchases and payment
The paid plan is a one-time purchase for a single move by the household purchasing it. The price is displayed before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.; we do not receive or store your full payment card details. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.
8. Refunds
If the plan does not help you, email contact@skipquarantine.com within 60 days of purchase and we will refund the purchase price in full, no questions asked. Refunds are issued to the original payment method; your bank controls how quickly the credit appears.
9. Plan delivery, emails, and calendar files
Your plan is delivered at a private link. Anyone who has the link can view the plan, so keep it confidential; we are not responsible for access that results from your sharing or losing the link. As part of the Service we send transactional emails, including your plan link and milestone reminders, to the email address provided at checkout. Email and calendar delivery depend on systems we do not control (for example, your inbox provider and calendar software), and we do not guarantee that any particular message will be delivered, displayed, or read. The plan page remains the authoritative copy of your plan and updates automatically; reminders and calendar files are conveniences, not substitutes for it.
10. No guarantee of outcomes
WHETHER YOUR ANIMAL IS RELEASED AT THE AIRPORT, HELD, OR QUARANTINED IS DECIDED SOLELY BY THE STATE OF HAWAII BASED ON YOUR ANIMAL'S ACTUAL DOCUMENTATION AND CONDITION ON ARRIVAL. HANDHEWN DOES NOT GUARANTEE QUALIFICATION FOR DIRECT AIRPORT RELEASE, THE 5 DAY OR LESS PROGRAM, OR ANY OTHER OUTCOME.
11. Intellectual property
The Site and Service, including all text, software, checklists, plans, designs, and compilations, are owned by Handhewn or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service and your plan for your own move. You may not copy, scrape, resell, redistribute, or create derivative products from the Service, except that you may print and share your own plan for your own household's use. State publications referenced by the Service remain public documents of the State of Hawaii.
12. Acceptable use
You agree not to interfere with the operation of the Site, probe or test its security, access it by automated means other than ordinary search-engine indexing, misrepresent your identity, or use the Service in violation of law.
13. Privacy
We collect the information you enter (such as your pet's name and the dates of veterinary events), your email address if you purchase, and standard technical logs. We use this information solely to operate the Service: to generate your plan, to send the plan link and reminders you paid for, and to respond to you. We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the Service for us (payment processing by Stripe, email delivery by Resend, hosting by Railway), each acting on our instructions. The Site sets no cookies and loads no third-party trackers, analytics, or fonts; every request is served first-party. To have your plan and associated data deleted, email contact@skipquarantine.com and we will delete them within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal purposes.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, ALL OF WHICH ARE DISCLAIMED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, HANDHEWN DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE IS ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR CURRENT WITH GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS AT ANY GIVEN TIME.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) HANDHEWN WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR LOST SAVINGS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION QUARANTINE, BOARDING, KENNEL, VETERINARY, TESTING, TRAVEL, LODGING, OR RELOCATION COSTS, LOSS OF USE OR COMPANIONSHIP, OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES AND EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE; AND (B) HANDHEWN'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case, liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Handhewn and its members, managers, and agents from claims, damages, and reasonable expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of law, except to the extent caused by Handhewn's own breach of these Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to first email contact@skipquarantine.com a description of the dispute and give us 30 days to resolve it informally; most issues are resolved by a refund under Section 8. Any claim that is not resolved informally must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court where permitted.
18. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify the Service and may update these Terms from time to time. Updates take effect when posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and material changes will be flagged on the Site. Your continued use after an update constitutes acceptance; each purchase remains governed by the Terms in effect when it was made.
19. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Handhewn regarding the Service and supersede prior understandings. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remainder will remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; Handhewn may assign them to an affiliate or successor. Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control. Sections 4, 5, 10, 11, and 13 through 19 survive any termination. Questions about these Terms: contact@skipquarantine.com.
